Some of my favorite finds are the pieces that weren't meant to be worn in the way I end up wearing them. For example, one of my all-time favorite tops was intended to be a vest! I picked it up in Hong Kong years ago and upon trying it on on its own (as opposed to over something else), tucked into my shorts, the ladies working at the store crowded around me, telling me they wished they'd thought of that. This crossbody was a recent purchase with a similar experience. I'd been wanting a white/cream, chain strap bum bag (similar to this one) but it wasn't easy to find. At the Sandro store, I tried stepping through this crossbody's strap, pulling on the chain end to shrink the loop, and it worked like a charm. It's of course completely adjustable this way and the extra chain gives a great flair and "swing" when worn. The hole in the leather that the chain feeds through is tight enough (and the bag is small/light enough) that the "waist" size stays in place, but you could also tie the chain in a knot to secure it if necessary. The Sandro sales associate seemed to consider this "convertible" crossbody concept a stroke of genius on my part and declared that she was going to copy me. :) #sincerestformofflattery
