Currently Coveting // Cold Shoulders

Currently Coveting is where I can share what items I've been eyeing and buying. I also love a good deal and take prices into consideration.

I have a weakness for cold shoulder tops and dresses because I think it's an understated way to add sex appeal to an otherwise covered up – and often Fall/Winter – outfit. I tend to like the style best in solid, versatile colors that will get good mileage. This season there are new and creative crops of cold shoulder items that have me frothing at the mouth. My top picks out there now...

Free People Prima Ballerina Top in Ivory ($58, pictured above in Black). I would wear this simple top tucked into high-waisted trousers and flats or with skinny jeans and heels. To me this would be a great Fall/Wintertime date outfit, to show your figure while not showing too much skin.

DKNY Cowlneck Cold Shoulder Dress ($235). This dress possesses that quintessential exposed/covered dichotomy that I love. It's very practical, conservative, and work-appropriate, only to have a peek of shoulder poke through. It's simultaneously wintry yet sexy. Above all, it's wearable.

ASOS Bodycon Dress in Rib with Zip Front and Cold Shoulder ($28.56, from $57.13). This dress is a classic "me" piece in that most people would probably pass right over it on the sale rack but if they saw it on me, because of how I'd styled it, they'd ask me where I bought it.

I happen to hate the lazy styling in the photos, but with heels (or tights with booties), red lipstick, and a bold updo, this would make for a head-turning night out look.

All Saints Hafbec Dress in Nude ($215). I have a love-hate relationship with All Saints. I love their stuff but their prices tend to teeter towards being ridiculous. This nude knit dress isn't as obnoxiously priced as most and I desperately want it. There's something muted, understated, and feminine about it. Love.

Nasty Gal Make The Cut Sweater ($24.00, from $48.00). Okay, so it's technically a cold shoulder-blade sweater, but I figured it's close enough. :)

I love this sweater. It's not showing anything risqué and yet looks so naughty. With nothing more than skinny jeans and a pair of flats, you'd be good to go. Yep, I bought this.

BCBG Maxazria Bailey Open Back Cold Shoulder Dress ($76.99, from $138). BACKLESS ALERT! Anyone who knows me knows I love a bold open-back, so this dress combines two of my great fashion loves. The only thing I don't dig is that chain across the back – it makes the dress lean towards "clubby", in my opinion – so I'd snip that right off.
