Waldo makes me so nostalgic! I used to have all the books and would spend hours dissecting every little detail in each drawing. This is at the Vilebrequin store in Soho.

This top was one of the best investments I've made all year. Seriously. It's super stretchy and easy to care for. I wear it with skinny jeans, tucked into red high-waisted crop trousers (like in the photos above and below), with a black pencil skirt, with black leather shorts... Fun fact: I wore it on the first date with my man, so obviously I think it's a good date pick. ;)

Also, I succumbed to the flash tattoo trend. (I realize I'm late to this party) I went from being a skeptic to being completely enamored.

Free People Striped Low Back Top (The best $48 ever spent). I'm a sucker for nautical stripes.

Gold Flash Temporary Tattoos ($9.25/sheet) on Etsy. For this outfit I used the single strand of dots from just below my hairline down the center of my back. Instructions and FAQs here. Warning: They're addictive.

Babaton "Cohen" Pant ($145) in Fiery Red, from Aritzia. Unfortunately this color is sold out but there are others still available. These were another great investment for me (gotta love an elastic waist!) so much so that I also bought them in the blush color. They feel like pajamas but look like polished trousers. Win!

Kate Spade "Carroll Park Mini Penelope" Crossbody (retailed for $298 and sold out but there are deals all over eBay, including here and here).

Whenever I visit my parents in Ottawa I always try to book a hair appointment with Mallory at Hair Republic. She's one of those gals that just "gets" you and what you're going for. I can be a bit of a stickler (read: pain in the ass) when it comes to my highlights...

BEFORE: "I want it too look SO natural that I'd rather it look like I've had nothing done than for it to look like I have highlights!"

AFTER: "But I can't really see them... will they lighten over time??"

Mallory nails it every time.

I fell in love with this Chaser tank at Olive & Bette's in New York several weeks ago but tend to think twice before spending $60 on a measly tank top. However, after a recent visit to the dinosaur department at the Museum of Natural History, I've had dinosaurs on the brain and had to have this one. I figure if I still covet something (relatively affordable) three weeks after first discovering it, it's purchase-worthy.

Tank: Chaser Dinosaur Muscle Tank ($59). A Large is still available on Zappos, and the regular tank (not an open-side muscle) sells on Lord & Taylor for $48.

Necklace: David Yurman Carved Cable Disc in Large, in sterling silver and 14K yellow gold. (retails for $800, but who pays retail??) eBay's the best place to scour for deals on David Yurman. Case in point: This exact necklace is selling secondhand for $349 here

I spend about half of the year in New York and always try to be a good New Yorker when I spot a celeb. (I ignore them) But when I spotted Megan Hilty while eating my Eggs Florentine, I had a serious star-struck moment and couldn't not run up to her. She had that beautiful pregnant glow and was super sweet, very graciously posing for my photo.

In the comments a lot of you wanted to know about my cardigan and pants, so here are the details!

Cardigan: All Saints "Kadarei" Cardigan in Mist Marl ($161) This exact cardigan sold out on online shops but it's listed on Poshmark here for $140. A similar and more budget-friendly option is selling on La-La Lady for only $40 here.

Trousers: Stefanel Elastic Waist Silk Stripe Pant ($150) I bought these in Berlin in June and these exact ones would be tough to find here. But honestly there are nicer striped silk pants are out there, particularly A.L.C.'s Optic Stripe pant, currently selling for $103.50 (marked down from $395!!) and Michael Kors' "Shantung" pant, at $339.75 (marked down from $1295!)
